The Good, the Bad and the 'Toadly' awesome:

After the Malaysian English film, "Vikingdom", KRU Studios strikes back by creating a 3D animated film that is loosely based on the Brothers Grimm's fairytale, "The Frog Prince"; a collaboration with the Indian company, Crest Animation, "Ribbit" is a story about a frog with an identity crisis. Written and directed by American voice actor, Chuck Powers, the storyline of the film is cute, simple and friendly. It is aimed towards children between the ages of 4 to 12 years, however, there are moments in the film where the dialogue gets too lengthy and the plot is somewhat predictable. But considering the age target of the film, this can be somewhat acceptable. The animation and design of the film is surprisingly quite good. Although incomparable to animations from Disney, Pixar or Warner Bros, for local standards, this movie is highly credible. The voice actors for the English version of the movie did a good job considering some of them are famous Hollywood artistes such as Sean Astin, Tim Curry, Russell Peters and Cherami Leigh, however, for the Malay version of the movie, some of the voice actors sound like they are drifting away. Nevertheless, overall, the film delivers good message to children and it may lead to more adventures for "Ribbit" and gang.

Look Out For:

The breathtaking view of sunset in Amazon Jungle and the realistic animation of the Amazon flowing river which brings this Malaysian animated film to a whole new level.

Trivia:

The Malay version of "Ribbit" comes with different Malay dialects for each character to stay close to the Malaysian culture.

Best Watched With:

Kids between the age from 4 to 12 years, admirers of 3D animated films and fans of KRU produced films.
