70 years before Harry Potter goes to Hogwarts, there was a young wizard named Newt Scamander, a Magizoologist who accidentally lets his magical creatures loose out of his suitcase in 1920s` New York. With a No-Maj baker named Jacob Kowalski and an agent of the Magical Congress of the United States of America, Tina Goldstein, they have to recapture all the beasts hiding in the city before the magical community gets exposed to the world. They soon come to realise that a dark force is taking over New York as the belligerent Dark Wizard Grindelwald terrorises the city.
