The movie, made in celebration of China`s 70th anniversary, tells of seven stories, all are based on seven memorial events since the foundation of People`s Republic of China. Each story focuses on the concept that while a country is big and the citizens seem small, they still can`t exist without each other. The stories tell of the things that are done by normal people and the reasons behind them, showing the close relationship between the country and its citizens.

Filem yang dihasikan bersempena ulang tahun China ke-70 ini menceritakan tujuh buah kisah, semuanya berdasarkan tujuh peristiwa bersejarah sejak pengasasan Republik Rakyat China. Setiap kisah memfokuskan konsep yang mana walaupun sesebuah negara itu besar dan rakyatnya pula kelihatan kecil, mereka sebenarnya tidak boleh wujud tanpa satu sama lain. Kisah-kisah itu menceritakan perkara yang dilakukan oleh orang biasa dan sebab-sebab di sebaliknya, menunjukkan hubungan rapat antara negara itu bersama rakyatnya.
