Based on the novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett, the movie tells the story of 10-year-old Mary Lennox. Born in India to rich British parents, she is left orphaned after an earthquake hits India. She is then sent to her uncle`s country estate that`s located in a remote location in the Yorkshire moors. There, she befriends her sickly cousin Colin and when they discover a wondrous lost garden, together they explore its secrets.

Diadaptasi dari novel nukilan Frances Hodgson Burnett dengan judul yang sama, filem ini berkisarkan mengenai seorang gadis berusia 10 tahun bernama Mary Lennox. Dilahirkan di India dalam keluarga British yang kaya, dia menjadi yatim piatu selepas gempa bumi melanda India. Dia kemudian telah dihantar ke estet milik pak ciknya yang terletak di kawasan pedalaman Yorkshore. Di sana dia telah berkawan dengan sepupunya Colin dan apabila mereka menemui sebuah taman terbiar, mereka mula meneroka rahsia yang ada di taman itu.
