The original show, "The Special Live Reading, Memoirs Under the Moonlight", premiered on the eve of the broadcast of the 26th and final episode of the anime adaptation of "Kimetsu no Yaiba". In this 2-hour show, six main members of the cast will be featured in costume and performing their lines onstage. The live reading includes a brand-new animated short made exclusively for the event called "School Life! A Kimetsu Academy Story", which is a comical three-episode arc showing what "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" would be if it were a school story.

Persembahan asal, "The Special Live Reading, Memoirs Under the Moonlight", membuat tayangan perdana pada malam sebelum siaran langsung episod ke-26 dan terakhir adaptasi anime "Kimetsu no Yaiba". Dalam persembahan selama dua jam ini, enam watak utama tampil berkostum dan mempersembahkan petikan skrip mereka di atas pentas. Persembahan secara langsung itu turut disertakan dengan sebuah animasi pendek baru berjudul "School Life! A Kimetsu Academy Story", yang dihasilkan khas untuk persembahan tersebut.
