13 Aug - Avid fans of popular “Star Wars” franchise made their way yesterday to GSC Mid Valley for “The Clone Wars” premiere, where some came extravagantly dressed as their favourite characters. In conjunction with the movie’s release, 501st Malaysia-Brunei Outpost together with representatives from the 501st Singapore Garrison organised a do for “The Clone Wars”. A few special guests joined, including Indonesian actor Samuel Rizal from upcoming local film "Sayang You Can Dance" and Jay Menon from Mix.fm. The intergalactic-styled occasion was graced by six characters from Star Wars the Original Trilogy and two characters from the Star Wars Prequels and Expanded Universe. There was also the famous Imperial March, much to the excitement of the fans present, while they got to mingle around and take plenty of photographs for their personal memorabilia. Fanboy Brian Goh says that the event was even better than the previous Movie Carnival, as the Star Wars character line-up seemed more complete. “It was great! Not all the time do these events come around. If I had the chance, I would love to participate and dress up as well,” he added.
