16 Mar – The wait is almost over for Kuala Terengganu, the state capital of Terengganu that has not had a cinema in it for the past two decades will finally see one open this Saturday. LFS PB Sentral, operated by Lotus Five Star Cinemas, will be the capital's first state-of-the-art cinema as it comes equipped with Dolby Atmos surround sound technology and will have a total of 11 halls with a seating capacity of 1631. After its launch, local residents will be able to enjoy titles such as "Logan", "Kong: Skull Island", "Attraction", "Kanang Anak Langkau", "Power Rangers", "Life", "Ghost in the Shell" and more without having to leave the state capital to catch movies on the big screens. A local title that will have the honour of being the first Malay movie to be screened at the new cinema is the action-packed "J Revolusi", which will start screening starting from the cinema's opening day. The movie announced the news on its Facebook page recently, calling for Kuala Terengganu residents to come and enjoy the movie at the new cinema this weekend.
The cinema is located at Paya Bunga Sentral, part of the development in the Paya Bunga commercial complex that also houses Paya Bunga Square and Paya Bunga Plaza. Previously slated to open last year, the opening date is now confirmed for 18 March 2017. Six of the cinema halls will open first, followed by the remaining five on a later date.
