13 Apr - We've seen Hollywood A-lister Jake Gyllenhaal a few times on TV but that's usually just as himself. However, that statement will no longer hold true as the actor has signed on to headline an HBO limited series, as reported by Deadline. Called "Lake Success", the series is based on Gary Shteyngart's book of the same name, which was picked as the best book of 2018 in over 30 lists. Stheyngart will be writing the screenplay along with Tom Spezialy and both will also serve as showrunners. In the series, Gyllenhaal will play the self-deluded hedge fund manager Barry Cohen, who goes on a cross-country bus ride in search of his college girlfriend. He leaves behind his wife Seema in Manhattan as she struggles to raise their autistic son and begins her own tragicomic love affair.
