"Raya Emas - Salako Sacred Treasure" shows the culture of Salako community in Sarawak

26 Mar - The premiere of "Raya Emas - Salako Sacred Treasure" in Malaysia has achieved great success, captivating audiences not only with its stunning visuals, compelling storyline, and strong screenplay, but also highlighting the tremendous tourism potential of Sarawak.

The premiere on 24 March, which was attended by cast members Winson Voon, Dunstun Luther Junior, Nina KSC, Marc Benjamin, also saw the appearance of the Deputy Chairman of FINAS, En Noor Azam Shair.

Executive Producer Winson Voon stated that "Raya Emas - Salako Sacred Treasure" is not just a film but also showcases the cinematic beauty and traditions of the Salako community in Sarawak.

"At the same time, I would like to express my deep appreciation for the support from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts of Sarawak, highlighting the important role of the Ministry in realising this project. Moreover, the Ministry has also emphasised the potential of this film to attract international tourists by showcasing Sarawak's unique attractions to a global audience," he said.


He further explained that with this collaboration, there is potential to make Sarawak a prime destination for international film productions, which would further strengthen the tourism sector.

"Raya Emas - Salako Sacred Treasure" tells the story of Zul (Winson Voon), a desperate father; Ansamah (Dunstun Luther), an adopted child striving to prove his worth as the protector of Salako's sacred treasure, Raya Emas; and a group of young explorers led by Diana (Ahirine Ahirudin), a girl with extraordinary prophetic abilities.

According to Winson, 80 percent of filming took place in the stunning landscapes of Lundu, Sarawak, with the film featuring 90 percent Sarawakian actors, serving as a strong platform to showcase local talent and strengthen the local film industry.

"By supporting films like this, we are investing in the future of Sarawak's tourism and fostering economic growth in the region. This film aims to position Sarawak as the prime choice for film production and a must-visit destination for travelers worldwide," he continued.

"Raya Emas - Salako Sacred Treasure" is set to be released in cinemas nationwide starting 3 April.
