Syukri Yahya breaks film drought with Syafiq Yusof's "Blood Brothers: Bara Naga"


"Blood Brothers: Bara Naga" marks Syukri Yahya's cinematic comeback
25 Mar - Five years since his last movie, Syukri Yahya finally decided to try his hands on the big screen again through the Syafiq Yusof film, "Blood Brothers: Bara Naga".

The actor, who has mostly starred in TV dramas since his last film, "Surf This Love: Gelora Juara", said that he decided to do the movie after being persuaded by good friend, Sharnaaz Ahmad.

"He succeeded in persuading me. He said that he is in the movie too, so I rearranged my schedule so that I can be a part of it," he said.

At the same time, Syukri admitted that he was happy to be able to be a part of a project helmed by Syafiq Yusof, who is known for his action flicks.

The "Curang Tanpa Niat" star also denied the notion that he only does dramatic projects and TV series, saying that it was just the fact that more offers had come his way from such projects.

At the same time, he admitted that he had turned down more than 10 movie offers or recommended them to other friends for the past five years due to conflicting schedules.

"If people can see what I can do in the film when it's released, I will continue to do this," he said.

The upcoming movie, which will be released on 10 April, stars Syafiq Kyle, Amelia Henderson, Zamarul Hisam, Wan Hanafi Su and Andy Teh among others.
