5 gargantuan reasons to watch "Kong: Skull Island"

Don't mess with the Kong.

The mighty giant ape is back with a vengeance on the big screen this March, and we are talking none other than Warner Bros.' upcoming big-budget blockbuster, "Kong: Skull Island".

The marketing team has done a splendid job promoting the movie so far since the first trailer was revealed at last year's Comic-Con. Whether "Kong: Skull Island" will make a Kong load of money at the box office still remains to be seen.

But as for now, here are the 5 reasons why you should watch this upcoming movie at the cinema.

1. There will be a sizable screen time for Kong

One of the action-packed scenes in "Kong: Skull Island".

According to one of "Kong: Skull Island" producers Alex Garcia, he has clarified with Moviefone that "unlike Godzilla, we meet Kong pretty quickly in our movie." That being said, it is clear the filmmakers know what audiences really want in a monster movie, which is the monster itself from the very start and tons of it!

2. Exciting cast

Among the ensemble cast includes (L-R) John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Brie Larson
and Tom Hiddleston featured in "Kong: Skull Island".

Looks like Kong isn't the only star to be focused upon here. We mean, look at the ensemble cast in this movie. We have some of Hollywood's most recognisable and talented actors working today in the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly and Brie Larson, the latter who won the Best Actress Oscar last year for her role in "Room".

Tom Hiddleston as Captain James Conrad in "Kong: Skull Island".

Best of all, it's nice to see Tom Hiddleston getting a major Hollywood role in a big-budget studio movie other than his famous Loki character seen in the Marvel movies.

3. It's going to be part of a shared universe with... Godzilla!

Remember this Godzilla seen in the 2014 version?

Yes, you read that right. "Kong: Skull Island" is actually a part of the shared universe (officially known as MonsterVerse) with Warner Bros.' 2014 reboot of "Godzilla". Since shared universe means there is going to be a world-building, it comes to no surprise that "Kong: Skull Island" will include a post-credit scene as well.

Following the Kong this year, the next MonsterVerse blockbuster is going to be "Godzilla: King Of The Monsters" in 2019 and followed by "Godzilla vs. Kong" in 2020. So, three years from now, it will be a dream come true for (most) fans of monster movies to witness Godzilla and the mighty Kong battle each other on the big screen.

4. There will be more creatures than just Kong

The Skull Crawlers in "Kong: Skull Island".

Let's face it. It will be only half the fun if the whole movie involves only of humans going against the mighty Kong. So this time around, we will also have other creatures as well, and they are giant spiders and a reptilian monster called Skull Crawlers. After all, we are talking about a monster movie here.

5. It is going to be different than your average Kong movies
