29 Sep – Online reports have been circulating that KRU Studios CEO Norman Abdul Halim was very disappointed with Metrowealth Movies Production (MMP) MD David Teo's statement announcing that "Momok The Movie" did better in comparison to "Jin Notti" on its opening day (20 September), indicating that it is the more successful movie. With regards to that, Norman challenged Teo to reveal the film's opening day gross and insisted that it be done by a professional auditor to prove the claim as Norman feared that the statement would influence cinemagoers' movie choice over the weekend. Regardless of that, result estimates over the last weekend's Malaysian box office (Sept 24-27) showed that "Jin Notti" overcame the hoo-haa landing in second place, while "Momok The Movie" in third. "G-Force" remains tops for second week running. Moviegoers in the United States went back for a second helping of "Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs", easily topping the box office with US$24.6 million, while Bruce Willis' science fiction flick "Surrogates" malfunctioned with US$15 million and "Fame" flamed out with US$10 million. Gerard Butler's romantic comedy "The Ugly Truth" remains unmovable at No.1 in Singapore, however will be challenged by U.S. two-week chart topper "Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs" as it opens on 1 October, while in Malaysia on 15 October 2009.
