24 Mar – After the success of his previous works like "Train Of Life" and "Live And Become", Romanian-born French director Radu Mihaileanu returns with his latest musical comedy "The Concert", where it recently received a well round of applause during the film's premiere at Cinema Europa GV VivoCity in Singapore. The director, who was in Singapore to promote the film, believed that audiences will be entertained by the humour, storyline and choice of music, whereby he incorporated a brilliant number for the closing scene - Concerto by Tchaikovsky. The film which was up for six nominations at the 35th Cesar Awards 2010, proudly bagged the award for Best Soundtrack and Best Music Written for a Film. This movie focuses on Andrei Filipov (Alexei Guskov) who was a greatest music conductor during the Brezhnev era, but was fired due to his refusal of getting rid of the Jewish musicians in his orchestra. Thirty years later and working as a janitor, Andrei decides to do it all over again. "The Concert" brings together Russian, French and Romanian actors namely Alexei Guskov, Dimitri Nazarov, Miou-Miou, Valery Barinov and Melanie Laurent, who used to act in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" in 2009. "The Concert" opens in Singapore on 25 March 2010.
