15 Apr - "A Minecraft Movie" seems to be on the right track to join the billion-dollar club as it has now surpassed USD 550 million mark at the box office.

And that is happening in just its second week!

The film has now earned USD 281 million in the US, as well as USD 296.6 million internationally for a worldwide total of USD 550.6 million. This includes China, where the film grossed USD 20.5 million. However, it is noted that the number has fallen 68 percent following the trade war between the US and China.

Many predicted that the film may be the first Hollywood film to reach USD 1 billion this year.

It is noted that China's animated feature "Ne Zha" is still the first film in 2025 to have surpassed not just 1 billion but USD 2 billion mark. The movie has now reached USD 2.15 billion at the box office, making it the fifth highest grossing movie of all time.

"Ne Zha 2" is still the biggest film this year
