24 Nov – LEGO group and Disney Consumer Products has recently announced their latest treasure - an upcoming collection of LEGO brand "Pirates Of The Caribbean" construction sets, scheduled to launch next year. Nine new building sets will bring the action, stories and characters of the original "Pirates Of The Caribbean" trilogy films to life in LEGO form, including the May 2011 premiere of the fourth instalment "Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides." Disney Consumer Product's vice president Vince Klaseus said, "Collaborating with the LEGO Group on the 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' franchise is sure to be another great example of how together, we merge timeless characters and stories with a versatile play pattern to create exciting ways to play for children and fans of all ages. We look forward to giving children a chance to recreate the adventures from the big screen, while adding their own creative twists and ideas through LEGO building".
Furthermore, Disney Interactive Studios, TT Games and LEGO Group has revealed that the LEGO "Pirates Of The Caribbean" set will have its own virtual adventures, scheduled for launch on multiple video game platforms such as Wii, X-Box 360, PlayStation Portable (PSP), PlayStation 3, Windows Live as well as Nintendo DS hand-held systems. To date, the "Pirates Of The Caribbean" movies have generated more than US$2.5 billion at the global box office while the multiple "Pirates Of The Caribbean" video games have sold more than 6 million units globally. Both quintessential pirate adventure productions will be launched simultaneously with the release "Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" movie on May 2011 in cinemas worldwide. "Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" will set sail for another swashbuckling adventure in cinemas on 19 May 2011!
