IMAX offers more

Tom Cruise in a scene from "Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol" due out on 15 December 2011.

31 Oct - In May of this year, Shaw Theatres Lido IMAX in Singapore made its debut and is now planning to be bringing in more of Hollywood's previous blockbusters, specifically those that premiered before May, according to their press statement that was released recently.

In response to its patron's request, some of the movies that are already available to date are "Avatar Special Edition", "How To Train Your Dragon", "Thor" and "Star Trek", all in IMAX 3D.

Before this, patrons had the opportunity to catch Disney's "Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" and "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2".

On the other hand, Malaysian moviegoers need not fear that they have to travel to Singapore solely to enjoy the IMAX 3D experience for an agreement had been recently signed by IMAX with Malaysian exhibitor TGV Cinemas.

The new digital theatre will be installed in Sunway Pyramid Mall, marking the return of IMAX in Malaysia after a 4 year break since the IMAX Theatre in Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur, ceased screening IMAX titles in 2007.

The theatre is set to open in 15 December this year, in accordance with the release of "Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol", starring Academy Award-nominee Tom Cruise.
