"Guardians" out in 2014

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is the next Marvel story to get the big screen treatment!

5 Jul – Disney has all but made it official that they are working on a movie adaptation of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy", when they announced a new release date for an untitled movie.

According to Deadline, Disney had confirmed that the untitled Marvel movie is indeed a movie adaptation of Marvel's intergalactic protectors that had comic-book fan boys running the rumour mill for weeks and has been moved from its original release date of 16 May 2014 to 1 August 2014.

For the non-comic book buffs, "Guardians of the Galaxy" follows the heroic efforts of Adam Warlock, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Rocket Racoon, Grot and Phyla-Vell/Quasar as they stop intergalactic menaces from Marvel's rogue gallery of otherworldly villains.

The report also suggested that the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie would see the heroes facing off with the villain Thanos, the grinning evildoer that you would remember from the post-credits scene in the recent "Marvel's The Avengers".

Upcoming sequels for "Iron Man", "Thor", "Captain America", "Marvel's The Avengers", and a new yet another animated movie featuring another band of Marvel superheroes, known as "Big Heroes 6", are set to fill Marvel and Disney's 2013/2014 release.
