8 Jan – "Abduction" actress Lily Collins is the first cast member confirmed to star in the remake of the 1981 cult classic "The Evil Dead", according to a report on ComingSoon.net. The 22-year-old daughter of musician Phil Collins will be playing a drug addict named Mia, who goes to a cabin in the woods with her friends to curb their addiction of drugs. The director of the film, Fede Alvarez, initially teamed up with Rodo Sayagues to write the script, but then it was taken over by Diablo Cody ("Jennifer's Body"). The story is a 'cabin in the woods' horror movie in which five twenty-something friends holed up in a remote cabin discover a book of the dead. They find an archaeologist's taped translation of the text and its incantations, replay them, and unwittingly summon dormant demons that possess them. Lily Collins recently starred in "Abduction" alongside Taylor Lautner and will be playing Snow White next in Tarsem Singh's "Mirror Mirror". The remake of "The Evil Dead" will most likely start production in New Zealand very soon and is looking towards a worldwide April 2013 official release.
