20 Aug – Popular local producer and director Datuk Yusof Haslam is admitted to the hospital after the removal of kidney stones.

Last night, the filmmaker had to undergo laser treatment to remove the kidney stones at the KPJ Tawakkal Specialist Hospital.

Yusof told reporters that he was vomiting and experiencing pain in the stomach region as well as urinating blood yesterday morning and had no choice but to receive treatment.

"At 5 in the morning, my whole body felt uncomfortable due to the vomiting and I was tossing and turning as I could not bear the pain," Yusof told Harian Metro.

According to him, after being diagnose with kidney stones the doctor told him that the surgery can be done through laser treatment.

"I do not have diabetes or high blood pressure. This is my first experience with kidney stones and the doctors said that the cause for it was not drinking clean water, Yusof said.

Coincidently, actor Adi Putra will be also undergoing surgery for removal of kidney stones at Prince Court Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur today.
