Danny Boyle and Leonardo for Steve Jobs

Danny Boyle to direct Sony's Steve Jobs biopic, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

24 Apr – When David Fincher left Sony's upcoming Steve Jobs' biographical film, the studio lost no time in finding their replacement in Danny Boyle.

Collider reported that the English director is now in talks to direct yet another biographical film about the Apple tycoon and he is said to have already approached Leonardo DiCaprio about taking on the lead role.Previously, Fincher was said to be eyeing Christian Bale for the starring role.

The script is written by Aaron Sorkin ("The Newsroom"), and consists solely of three extended scenes set before the launch of three major Apple products.

Nothing has been finalized as yet, but if negotiations come through, the film will mark Boyle and DiCaprio's second collaboration since "The Beach" in 2000.

DiCaprio is a busy man, considering that he just signed on to star in "The Revenant" for director Alejandro González Iñárritu with filming set to begin in September.

A Steve Jobs biopic directed by Joshua Michael Stern starring Ashton Kutcher was released last year, but to mostly negative reviews.
