31 Jul – Jamie Foxx was Ray Charles, he was Tookie Williams, he was Django, in short, Foxx has brought to life many strong and important figures in films – albeit some of them being fictional, but still. This time the Oscar-winner has been chosen yet again to portray a well-known figure in an upcoming film. The biopic will be about the life of one of the fiercest boxers on earth, Mike Tyson, and Foxx was handpicked for the role by Tyson himself. However, it comes as no surprise that the actor would be chosen as not only has he impersonated the boxer before for a comedy skit, he has also expressed his desire to act as Tyson in the boxer's biopic. Back in May, during an appearance on "Live with Kelly and Michael", Foxx mentioned that, "I talked to him about doing his story. I think that story would be fantastic ... and I had my makeup artist dress me up as Mike Tyson ... People were literally coming up asking for autographs. So hopefully, Mike, if you're listening, let's make history." Looks like Tyson was listening. Although currently there is no distributor for the project, it is confirmed that Foxx's manager Rick Yorn is producing while "The Sopranos" creator and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Terence Winter is writing the screenplay. One of the interesting tidbits given out by Tyson regarding this project is they will utilise the same CGI technology used previously in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" to show age progression as Foxx will be portraying him in different stages of his life.
