6 Dec – Cinemas in Johor will be closed as a mark of respect for the late Prince of Johor, Tunku Abdul Jalil Iskandar Ibni Sultan Ibrahim Ismail. The late Prince passed away on Saturday evening at 7.11pm at the royal ward of Sultanah Aminah Hospital. He was 25. The fourth child of Sultan Ibrahim Ismail ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj and Raja Zarith Sofia binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, born on 5 July 1990, had been battling liver cancer. TGV Cinemas has confirmed that TGV Tebrau City, TGV Bukit Indah and TGV AEON Kulaijaya are momentarily closed. The three cinemas will resume operation this 9 December. MBO Cinemas will also be closed. MBO KSL City, MBO U-Mall, MBO Batu Pahat Mall and MBO Square One will open again at 7pm on Tuesday, 8 December. Meanwhile MBO Kluang Mall and MBO Heritage Mall will only resume operation on Wednesday, 9 December. Cinema Online has yet to receive confirmation from other cinemas but closure is also expected.
