2 Jun – Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson is reportedly being eyed for a 'Marvel'ous role. Word has it, Larson is the first choice to play the titular superhero of "Marvel's Captain Marvel". The 26-year-old is currently in early talks for the part, according to Variety, even though currently the project has no director attached to it yet. If Larson takes up the offer, she will be portraying Carol Danvers, an air force pilot who gains superhuman strength after her human genes were accidentally fused with that of an alien. The script is currently being penned by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman ("Inside Out"), while Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is producing. News of "Captain Marvel" being adapted for the big screen first circulated back in 2013. A year later, Marvel officially confirmed that the adaptation has been greenlit for a 2018 release, though the date was later pushed back a year. "Captain Marvel" is expected to be released in North American cinemas on 8 March 2019. Before donning her superhero spandex, Larson can be seen on the silver screen next year in "The Glass Castle" and "Kong: Skull Island".
