28 Mar – It's no secret that "Kingsman 2" is in the making, but the official title of the sequel has yet to be revealed – until now. "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" will be the title of the upcoming movie, as revealed by director Matthew Vaughn in an interview with Empire Magazine, according to Comic Book Movies. "I didn't know if I wanted to direct this or not. I was worried about the villain. Spy films are only as good as their villains. Then one morning I woke up with the whole storyline in place, and a new villain plot," said Vaughn.
Richmond Valentine, the villain in the 2015 "Kingsman: The Secret Service" as portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson, was definitely one of the quirkier and more memorable evil characters to grace the big screen. He speaks with a lisp that somewhat downplays his evil nature and is unable to stomach gore, throwing up whenever he sees blood, a characteristic most villains aren't usually known for. However, Valentine will of course not be returning in the second movie, making way for new villain Poppy, played by Julianne Moore.
Taron Egerton will also be back as Eggsy and Mark Strong as Merlin. The cast will be joined by Halle Berry who will play Ginger. In the sequel, Eggsy and Merlin will be working with the Statesmen, a U.S.-based secret organisation led by Ginger and a "swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy" named Jack, though the actor for this part has yet to be announced. "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" is slated for release in North America on 10 June 2017.
