"Kingsman" prequel finally receives official title

Ralph Fiennes is just one of the big stars in "The King's Man".

20 Jun – Previously reported as "Kingsman: The Great Game" (though director Matthew Vaughn did shoot this down before), this title is no more as the "Kingsman" prequel finally receives an official name.

Now the upcoming movie will be officially known as "The King's Man", according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The new logline for the movie states: "As a collection of history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them."

It will have Harris Dickinson leading a star-studded cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Daniel Brühl, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode and Djimon Hounsou.

It is set to be helmed and produced by Vaughn, who was also the director, producer and writer of the first two instalments, "Kingsman: The Secret Service" and "Kingsman: The Golden Circle".

The prequel, set long before the events of the first two Taron Egerton and Colin Firth-starring movies, will be the third instalment of the "Kingsman" franchise that's based on the comics by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.

A fourth instalment in the works will either be the spinoff focusing on the Statesman, with Channing Tatum, Halle Berry and Jeff Bridges reprising their roles from "The Golden Circle", or the threequel that will wrap up the story of Egerton's Eggsy and Firth's Harry.

"The King's Man" opens in cinemas in February 2020.

Before that, Vaughn's latest movie, "Rocketman", which also stars Egerton, is set to hit the big screen next month.
