27 Apr – Producer of the much-awaited Indonesian romance drama, "Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2" ("AADC 2"), Mira Lesmana is not saying no to the possibility of a third sequel and says that it all depends on the audiences. "Honestly, I am quite satisfied with the ending of this movie, but at the end of the day it depends on the audiences if the film is good or not. So it's up to them if there would be another sequel, I don't dare shout about a sequel so soon," she said at the film's gala premiere held at Cathay Cineplex, eCurve yesterday. Mira also said that "Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2" was released at the right time and is proud of the director, Riri Riza's vision for it. Riri said that the timing for the second movie was just right as both the characters; Rangga and Cinta have fully matured for the continuation of the story. "In the first film, both Rangga and Cinta were only teenagers, so we took our time to continue their love story after 14 years as we thought it is the right time for it."
"Since our characters are now 28 or 29 years-old, that's when most of us would make big life decisions, therefore it is apt that Rangga and Cinta will now also make a big decision for their future."
Back in 2002, "Ada Apa Dengan Cinta" was an unexpected hit in Malaysia, where audiences were lured by the actors' charms and romantic storyline, however, the bittersweet ending had left audiences hungry for more. Nevertheless, now it looks like the 14-year wait would be well worth it as all will be answered in the sequel when it comes to cinemas this 28 April 2016. Apart from Nicholas Saputra and Dian Sastrowardoyo, "AADC 2" also stars Titi Kamal, Sissy Prescillia and Adinia Wirasti.
