Jackie Chan sole Chinese celebrity on Forbes' list


Jackie Chan became the only Chinese star to make it to Forbes' Celebrity 100 List 2017.

19 Jun – It was revealed that Jackie Chan is the only Chinese celebrity who has made it to Forbes' Celebrity 100 List this year.

Forbes recently announced its World Highest-Paid Entertainers list, which was determined based on celebrities' earnings from June 2016 to June 2017.

It ranked Jackie at number 39, with USD46 million, which he accrued mostly from his mainland movies such as "Railroad Tigers" and "Kung Fu Yoga".

Jackie was ranked at number 16 in last year's list.

The highest paid entertainer this year was revealed to be Sean "Diddy" Combs, also known as P. Diddy, with USD130 million, which came as a surprise to many. He surpassed Beyonce, who came second with USD105 million, and author J.K. Rowling, who ranked third with USD95 million.

Other Asian stars who were listed include Japanese tennis player Nishikori Kei, who came in 92nd with USD33.9 million, and three Bollywood actors – Akshay Kumar (at 80 with USD35.5 million), Salman Khan (ranked 71 with USD37 million), and Shah Rukh Khan, who came in 65th with USD38 million.
