19 Aug – With the reception of "Suicide Squad" in mind, DC is pulling out all the stops to ensure that the upcoming solo vehicle for Harley Quinn – one of the more well-received characters in the 2016 live-action movie – gets a much more positive reaction from audiences. "Birds of Prey", which also goes by the mouthful official title "Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)", will be undergoing additional photography to reshoot some of its action scenes. The movie is getting as many punches as it can by bringing in Chad Stahelski to design the new scenes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Stahelski, who audiences would be more familiar with as the stuntman who's successfully transitioned into an action movie director via the "John Wick" franchise, will take on the uncredited role and oversee second unit photography for the movie. His involvement is no surprise since his stunt firm 87 Eleven has been working on the movie since the start of production. Director Cathy Yan, who is making her big studio debut with this movie, will be working with Stahelski on the reshoots. "Birds of Prey", to be released in February 2020, will see Margot Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn. Robbie leads a cast made up of Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, Chris Messina as serial killer Victor Zsasz, and Ewan McGregor as the villainous Black Mask.
