1 Jul – Will there be another "Ocean's" movie in the near future? According to one of its stars Don Cheadle, there could be one. The actor, who plays explosives expert Basher Tarr in all three "Ocean's" movie, recently shared as much during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying that talks about the fourth heist movie has been going on for many years. "[Director Steven Soderbergh and all of us] were talking about it, and then Bernie passed, and very quickly we were like, 'No, we don't want to do it.'" he said, referring to co-star Bernie Mac, who played conman Frank Catton. Mac died in August 2008 from complications of pneumonia.
However, Cheadle, who has worked with Soderbergh in six movies, stated that the director did mention about the fourth movie again while they were filming "No Sudden Move". "I just did a movie with Steven and he said, 'I think there may be a way to do it again. I'm thinking about it.' And it didn't go much further than that. But I don't know; I don't know who would be in it. I imagine the main group of us would be in. It would be interesting to see," he said. It is noted that the last time that the cast of the said franchise were together, it was 14 years ago for "Ocean's Thirteen". The first movie, "Ocean's Eleven" - which is a remake of the 1960 Rat Pack film of the same name, boasted a star-studded cast that include George Clooney as the titular Danny Ocean, Brad Pitt as his partner-in-crime Rusty Ryan, and Matt Damon as pickpocket Linus Caldwell. An all-female spin-off titled "Ocean's 8" was released in 2018 starring Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean and Cate Blanchett as her partner-in-crime Lou. This film was directed by Gary Ross.
