11 Jun – Mindy Kaling and Helena Bonham Carter are joining Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett in the all-female reboot of the American comedy heist film, "Ocean's Eleven", set to be directed and produced by Gary Ross. The remake is said to be a spinoff rather than a reboot, with Sandra Bullock playing the lead while Cate Blanchett serves as more of a sidekick role, similar to Danny Ocean and Rusty Ryan's relationship in the original movie, played by George Clooney and Brad Pitt respectively. It is also rumoured that Bullock's character is believed to be Danny Ocean's sister, and the plot will revolve around a gang of female thieves who plan to steal a necklace to frame an evil art dealer. For now, it is unclear what roles Kaling and Bonham Carter will be filling, but chances are they might both be part of Bullock's squad. Jennifer Lawrence was previously rumoured to the join the project, but she soon rejected it due to her busy schedule. The unofficial working title of the movie is "Ocean's Ocho," indicating that the gang of thieves will consist of eight protagonists instead of eleven.
