11 Mar – Sir Kenneth Branagh has been brought in to helm the upcoming Paramount Pictures' new autobiographical project surrounding the British-Australian trio, the Bee Gees.

The actor-director, who has helmed films of a variety of genres including "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit", "Murder on the Orient Express" and "Thor", will be directing the upcoming project that will be written by Ben Elton - of whom Branagh had worked with in the 2018 Shakespeare-themed film, "All is True".

It is noted that Paramount has acquired life rights to the Gibb family estate back in 2019, as well as the rights to use their classic songs.

Bee Gees' surviving member Barry Gibb will also be executive producer and will involve himself actively in the narrative film.

The Bee Gees, comprised of Gibb brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice, were among the world's best-selling music artists of all time, having worldwide sales of more than 220 million records during their time. Among their hit songs include "Stayin' Alive", "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart," and "Too Much Heaven."
