22 Jun – John Krasinski recently confirmed that there is another "A Quiet Place" story in the works, though he will not be helming it this time.

The actor, who directed and penned the first 2018 film as well as the recent sequel, stated that the next film will be directed instead by Jeff Nichols, whose 2012 film "Mud" was a favourite of his.

"Truly the only person I had in mind when asked whether I would hand this off was Jeff. I think he's one of the best filmmakers, "Mud" is one of my favorite movies, and so real and intimate. It's exactly the sort of paints we're painting within "A Quiet Place" – very organic characters you fall in love with," he said.

However, despite calling the next film as "the third one", Krasinski officially labelled it as a "spin-off" - sparking speculations that the Abbott family may or may not be in it.

"Is it going to continue the Abbotts? Who knows! No, I will tell you that it is... I'm really excited about the third instalment because it's going to do something that we haven't done before," he added.

The said project is scheduled tentatively for a 2023 release.
