9 Aug – Director Shawn Levy has two interesting information to share with everybody - first, he has plans to make "Real Steel 2"; and second, he would love to have good pals Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman to star in it together. Speaking to the media to promote his new movie, "Free Guy" recently, which stars Ryan Reynolds, Levy revealed that he has been talking to Jackman about doing a sequel to his 2011 sci-fi sports drama, and would love for the two stars to work together in it. "Hugh and I definitely are feeling, we've never stopped feeling the love for Real Steel, and it's almost like the volume has been increasing. Hugh and I were together literally last week talking about that. So I would never say never on that, a sequel for Real Steal," said Levy. He continued, "Additionally, I'm friends with Hugh. I'm friends with Ryan. I will get them together. Whether it's in Real Steel or another movie, I will direct those two amazing guys and dear friends in a movie together."
It is noted that Reynolds and Jackman last worked together in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", and that was way back in 2009. This was where Reynold's Wade Wilson a.k.a. Deadpool was first introduced. It would be interesting to see the two buddies work together again. Based on the short story "Steel" by Richard Matheson, the original "Real Steel" movie stars Jackman as a former boxer Charlie who reluctantly teams with his estranged son, Max (Dakota Goyo), to build and train a championship robot for a last shot at redemption.
