8 Sep – Malaysia's biggest cinema chains TGV and GSC are elated over news that the Malaysian government is easing the restriction on the creative industry, enabling them to get back to business catering to cinemagoers who have completed their COVID-19 vaccinations. In a statement, TGV Cinemas stated that they are welcoming all cinephiles and cinemagoers to make their way to their theatres. "The decision that was made after a discussion with the Pandemic Management Committee and the deliberation from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob really excited us. We will definitely adhere to the SOP determined by the government," the company stated. TGV has also started promoting new movies, with their latest post on Facebook about the upcoming "The Matrix Resurrection" movie.
As for GSC, the cinema chain stated that they could not wait to start opening their theatres to customers who have completed their COVID-19 vaccination. "Wait for our latest information on our new movies that will be shown, as well as the SOP reminders," said GSC's Public Relations & Branding Manager, Sharmine Ishak. GSC aso revealed on its official Facebook page that it will be bringing \"A Quiet Place 2" and "Fast & Furious 9" back to the big screen.
