14 Aug – After a week in a coma following a car crash, the family of actress Anne Heche announced that she has passed away. In a statement released to the media 12 August, the family expressed, "We have lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend. Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy." "Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact."
Heche went into coma following severe injuries sustained from an accident on 5 August, when she crashed her car into a two-story house. The car erupted in heavy fire shortly after the crash. The "Donnie Brasco" and "Ally McBeal" actress went into coma soon after, with doctors reporting that she sustained severe brain and pulmonary injuries. Heche still had several projects that have yet to come out, including horror movie "Chasing Nightmares" and the HBO Max series, "The Idol". She was 53.
