28 Mar – It was a big night for "CODA", bagging three accolades at the 94th Academy Awards including Best Picture. However, the big winner of the night was actually Denis Villeneuve's "Dune", which brought home multiple accolades in the technical categories, from Best Sound, Best Cinematography, and Best Original Score for Hans Zimmer. It also won Best Editing, Best Score, and Best Production Design. On the other hand, Jane Campion surprised no one when she won Best Director for "The Power of the Dog", having won similar accolades multiples times during the awards season.
The awards also came with several surprises, from "No Time to Die" besting favourite, Encanto's "Dos Oruguitas" to win Best Original Song, to Will Smith punching presenter Chris Rock for making a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith's alopecia.
