7 Nov – SS Rajamouli is having the time of his life following the success of his epic film, "RRR", and he is happy to thank Mel Gibson for that.
The Indian director, who spoke to Deadline recently about the film, which is now the third highest-grossing movie of all time in India, shared that Mel Gibson's "Braveheart" was one of the biggest inspirations for his film.
"I like that film a lot. The way he enhances the drama before the action is a big influence on me," he added.
At the same time, Rajamouli stated that the movie was also inspired by other Indian epics and western movies.
On the other hand, when mentioned that the movie became the only non-English language film to trend globally for ten consecutive weeks on Netflix, the filmmaker stated, "It has never happened with any other film. I'm still trying to figure it out."
In related news, Rajamouli revealed that he will be directing a new movie soon starring Mahesh Babu. Production is set to start in March next year.
