30 Oct – Amid the SAG-AFTRA strike and the backlash against Rachel Zegler over previous statements regarding her role as Snow White, it looks like Disney is delaying the release of the movie from 2024 to 2025. The live-action Snow White film, officially titled, "Disney's Snow White", was originally scheduled for a 22 March 2024 release. However, it has now been pushed back to 21 March 2025, a year from the original date. Another movie from Disney, the Pixar animated feature, "Elio", has also been pushed back from 1 March 2024 to 13 June 2025.
While the movie has been pushed back, the studio still unveiled the first official image, which sees Zegler for the first time in her blue and yellow dress alongside the seven dwarves. The movie was not without its controversies since it was announced, from casting the Latina Zegler as Snow White, the flak Disney faced from Peter Dinklage over the dwarves' part of the story and later criticised yet again by the dwarfism community for not hiring them to play characters that are made for them, they also met with another backlash against Zegler after the actress called the original 1937 animated feature "extremely dated".
