8 May – It's another blow to Marvel's "Blade", as the movie is now facing another delay due to the writers' strike.

The movie, which is currently in the works, is one of the many projects affected by the strike, with Marvel Studios announcing that it will be shutting down preproduction.

It is noted that the movie previously hired Nic Pizzolatto of "True Detective" fame to pen the script, but that it didn't finish in time before the strike happened.

The Mahershala Ali starrer had been having a lot of problems since it was announced, from multiple production delays that caused the movie to move its release date several times, to director Bassam Tariq stepping down from the project due to the abovementioned issue.

It is noted that the last time Writers Guild of America (WGA) went on strike was in 2007, where the association demanded for increased funding for the writers. In the latest strike, the issue revolves around residuals from streaming media as well as the rise of artificial intelligence (AI).
