1 Sep - Leonardo DiCaprio's upcoming movie, "Killers of the Flower Moon" will no longer have a limited release on 6 October. The movie, which is directed by renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese, will stick with its 20 October release. However, it will now be released globally simultaneously before going to Apple TV+. Although no reason was given as to why the change of strategy, many speculated that it has something to do with the dual union strikes involving actors (SAG-AFTRA) and writers (WGA) against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
Many believed that a bigger release will help the movie, seeing that the cast may not be able to promote the movie if the strike continues. Co-starring Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons among others, the movie revolves around the FBI investigation into a series of murders of the Osage Native American tribesmen in Oklahoma in the early 1920s.
