6 Jun – "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", the highly-anticipated sequel to 2018's "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" has recently become a box office hit as it opened to USD 120.5 million in the US. The animated feature, which sees the return of Shameik Moore as the voice of Miles Morales/Spider-Man, marked the second biggest opening of 2023 to date, behind "The Super Mario Bros. Movie". Meanwhile, it was also a success overseas, opening to USD 88.1 million, earning the movie USD 208.6 million at the global box office in just a few days.
It is noted that another sequel is set to be released in 2024, titled, "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse". Meanwhile, Disney's live-action remake of "The Little Mermaid" came second with an additional USD 40.6 million domestically. It has now made USD 326.7 million globally in its second week.
