Japanese Cinema Mini Showcase 2025 will be held from 21-24 February 2025 in GSC Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur. Themed "Characters in Bloom: Confession to the Basics of Japanese Cinema", this special showcase is presented by the Japan Foundation in collaboration with Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) and GSC International Screens.
This event is part of the Japan Foundation's program, "Professional Development and Networking Initiatives for ASEAN-Japan Film Programmers and Curators." The showcase presents four meticulously selected films by Ms. Yu Ern of MIFFest, who participated in last year's program. The featured films are "Love Letter" (1995) by Iwai Shunji, "Maborosi" (1995) by Kore-eda Hirokazu, "A Story of Yonosuke" (2012) by Okita Shuichi, and "Sweet Bean" (2015) by Kawase Naomi.
Tickets are priced at RM 10 and available to purchase via GSC E-Ticketing Kiosks, as well as online at www.gsc.com.my and through the GSC Mobile App.
