This live-action adaptation of "Hiroin Shikkaku" by Momoko Koda follows Hatori Matsuzaki, who has a crush on her childhood friend, Rita Terasaka, but Rita begins going out with Miho Adachi. Meanwhile popular guy Kosuke Hiromitsu is interested in Hatori.

The Good, the Bad and the True Heroine:

• The movie adaptation of the Japanese manga of the same name is definitely hilarious, sometimes annoying, and other times heart-breaking, but overall, still entertaining.

• It stays true to the manga and has incorporated all the cheesy yet adorable manga or anime elements like daydreaming, school festivals, school trips and others.

• The movie seems predictable at first, but takes a very unexpected twist.

• It is captivating and fun to watch, and is filled with plenty of laugh out loud moments.

• Kiritani Mirei is amazingly hilarious and cute in her role as the main heroine (but no longer heroine).

• She proves that even with a pretty face, it is still possible to perform exaggeratedly stupid scenes.
