A sequel to the 1990 film of the same name, a group of medical students begin experimenting with "near-death" experiences in order to see if anything lies beyond the afterlife. The group is then revisited by physical manifestations of childhood sins and past tragedies, which start to jeopardise their lives, and they are unsure if what they are facing is real or hallucination.

The Good, the Bad and the Near-death Experience:

• The movie joins the group of unnecessary remakes, and it's just one of those that are meant to cash in on the nostalgic name and glory of their classic counterparts.

• However, even the original movie is hardly a classic, but at least the concept was fresh back then, and it had better actors and story.

• Of course, since the technology is getting better these days, it makes sense that visual-wise, the remake is a bit better, but story-wise, the predecessor is better as it has a stronger screenplay.

• For those who have no knowledge of the first movie, they might enjoy this one but they may as well watch the original film.

Trivia:

• Although Kiefer Sutherland appears in both versions, he plays two different characters.
