Siam Square

During the day, Siam Square is a popular place bustling with students but when night time falls, it transforms into a spooky ground. Young students believe that they have to worship an evil spirit to pass the National Entrance Exam. The chances of passing the exams are supposedly increased by tying red threads onto a specific chair. When a group of students who doesn`t believe in the superstition finds the chair and tries the ritual, one of them gets haunted and ends up dead. At the same time, rumours are saying that the evil spirit of a girl who disappeared over three decades is now back roaming the streets late at night.
Ketika waktu siang, Siam Square sangat popular di kalangan pelajar tetapi pada waktu malam, ia bertukar menjadi kawasan menyeramkan. Para pelajar percaya yang mereka perlu memuja roh jahat untuk lulus dalam Peperiksaan Kemasukan Kebangsaan. Peluang untuk lulus peperiksaan itu kononnya meningkat dengan mengikat tali berwarna merah di sebuah kerusi. Apabila sekumpulan pelajar yang tidak percaya dengan kepercayaan tahyul itu menjumpai kerusi tersebut dan mencuba ritual itu, salah seorang mereka mula dihantui dan mati. Pada masa sama, khabar angin mengatakan roh jahat gadis yang hilang sejak tiga dekad lalu kembali berkeliaran di jalanan pada lewat malam.

The Good, the Bad and the Spirit in Siam Square:

• The movie is not so much of a horror but more of a confusing mystery with some shocking moments which you would hardly remember after.

• The director's effort to thread a complex story of friendship, superstition and love is spoiled by the amateurish acting, awkward scripting, clumsy edits and flat characters.

• At the end of the day, the movie leaves a huge question mark for the audience.

• The storyline is overly-convoluted and the characters are under-developed and lacking of motivation, which translates as boring for a horror movie.

• Even with the crafted shots, creepy environment and ambitious-sounding vision, there is still nothing that the audience can take away from the movie.
