2 Dec – The four little birds in "The Penguins of Madagascar" took over Malaysia and Singapore's box office last weekend but lost to "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1" at the U.S. box office for 27 to 30 November 2014. In the U.S., the odds are in "Mockingjay's" favour as it raked in a collection of USD56.9 million, while "The Penguins of Madagascar" got second place in its opening week grossing USD25.4 million. On the other hand, Disney's "Big Hero 6" drops from second place to third place with a collection of over USD18.8 million.
In Malaysia and Singapore, "The Penguins of Madagascar" soar to the top in its opening weekend, pushing last week's champion, "Mockingjay" to second place and "Big Hero 6" to third place. Also opening in Malaysia last week; "Ungli", "Kaaviya Thalaivan", "Aaaah", "Fireproof", "Lelaki Harapan Dunia", "Rise of the Legend", "In Between Floors", "Dumb and Dumber To", "Horrible Bosses 2" and "Mana Mau Lari". Other new movies that opened in Singapore last week; "Ungli", "Kaaviya Thalaivan", "Aaaah", "Very Good Girls", Horrible Bosses 2", "The Eyes Diary", "Rise of the Legend" and "Women Who Flirt".
