Rajinikanth's "Jailer 2" has begun filming

13 Mar - The sequel to Rajinikanth's hit 2023 film "Jailer" has now begun production.

The news was revealed by producer Sun Pictures on 10 March, with a teaser poster of the film and the caption that read, "Muthuvel Pandian's hunt begins! Jailer 2 shoot starts today."

It was also revealed that filming will be done at various locations in India including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.

It was back in January that director Nelson Dilipkumar announced the sequel with a teaser on YouTube, writing, "Immensely happy to announce my next film #Jailer2 with the one and only #Superstar #Thalaivar @rajinikanth sir and with my favourite @sunpictures #Kalanithimaran sir and my dearest loving friend @anirudhofficial and thanks to my team."

The original film, which became the highest grossing Tamil film of 2023, starred Rajinikanth as "Tiger" Muthuvel Pandian, a retired jailer who is seeking to apprehend an eccentric idol smuggler called Varman.
