Zack's Girls

The beautiful young ladies of "Sucker Punch". (From left, behind) Sweet Pea, Rocket, Baby Doll, Blondie and Amber

From the visionary director who brought us the epic bloodbaths "Dawn Of The Dead" and "300" while not forgetting the superhero film "Watchmen", Zack Snyder returns with an all-female cast fantasy about a girl, Baby Doll who is institutionalized by her wicked stepfather. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape from the facility before she is forced to undergo lobotomy. Baby Doll receives the help of few trusted allies, Amber, Blondie, Rocket and Sweet Pea who are also trapped inside the institution. The girls have to fight through several different sets of fantasy world – Samurai World, World War and Train World in order to escape their trapped reality. Snyder had an ensemble of young, talented, either experienced or aspiring actresses to fill in the shoes of the five core characters of his latest effects-laden product, "Sucker Punch". In conjunction with the release of the film on 24 March, we'll let our readers do a little bit of 'ice-breaking' with the lucky actresses who were handpicked by Snyder personally for the movie.

Emily Browning (left) as Baby Doll, the fiery katana-wielding fighter in "Sucker Punch"

Emily Browning (Baby Doll)
Born on 7 December 1988 as Emily Jane Browning, this young Aussie beauty first debuted as an actress in Hallmark TV movie "The Echo Of Thunder" when she was 10 years old. Her previous film roles include Grace Kelly in 2003's "Ned Kelly", opposite Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom, Katie Harwood in 2002's "Ghost Ship" and Anna Ivers in 2009's "The Uninvited". However, Browning, who is more fondly called Em is more renowned with her role as Violet Baudelaire in "Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events" alongside Jim Carrey and Liam Aiken. An interesting note about Browning's casting as Baby Doll is the character was originally offered to "Mamma Mia!"'s actress, Amanda Seyfried but the latter was forced to drop out due to schedule conflicts. Browning is apparently, "Twilight"'s author Stephenie Meyer's first pick to play Bella Swan (according to Meyer's website, at least)

What's Next? : Browning will appear in an indie Australian erotic drama film entitled "Sleeping Beauty". Loosely based on the famous fairytale, Browning will play Lucy, a young university student who is drawn into prostitution, drugged, and unable to recollect her activities. The character originally went to Browning's fellow Aussie mate, "Alice In Wonderland" actress Mia Wasikowska who had to drop the role due to commitment to a "Jane Eyre" remake at the time.

Her more renowned role is Chi Chi, Goku's love interest in "Dragonball Evolution". An interesting trivia about her casting in "Sucker Punch" is that Chung replaced Emma Stone ("Zombieland") who was originally offered for her character, Amber.
