21 Oct – Armed with oversized pistols and black leather jackets, Mark Wahlberg's more successful box office assault after "The Happening" is the video game movie "Max Payne", which shot itself into 52 Malaysian screens last weekend (Oct 16-19) and to the top of the box office charts as expected, grossing over RM 2 million. However, "Eagle Eye" declined little and settled for a remarkable second.
According to distributor Twentieth Century Fox Malaysia, the popular game movie is not expecting much trouble by Nicolas Cage's "Bangkok Dangerous" which opens this weekend; and is set for another week of blazing business. "Senario The Movie: Episod 1" held sway at No.3 with its monumental 68 prints despite it having been three full weeks after the first Raya weekend, managing to beat another regional release, "Tipu Kanan Tipu Kiri", which had a so-so debut despite a gala night boost attended by its Indonesian cast members, Titi Kamal and Christian Sugiono. The other new movies released last week did not make the top ten. They are "Soul's Code", "10 Promises To My Dog", "Sumpah Pocong" and "Karz".
