31 May – "Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time" debuted on top of the Malaysia weekend box office overtaking "Shrek Forever After" with ease, while Surya Sivakumar's "Singham" garnered a good run with sold out showtimes within the Klang Valley. The Jerry Bruckheimer epic adventure starring Jake Gyllenhaal shot up on Cinema Online's 'Hot Movie Checks' on opening day (27 May), followed by "Singam", "Shrek Forever After", "A Nightmare On Elm Street" and "Robin Hood".
According to BIG Cinemas, the Surya-starrer "Singam" will be the first Tamil film to be release on an unprecedented scale across US, with more than 30 screens across 24 locations/cities on 28 June.
Meanwhile, "Shrek Forever After" led the North American box office with a second weekend victory over new releases "Sex And The City 2" and "Prince Of Persia", which nabbed second and third place respectively. However, "Sex And The City" fans in Malaysia will have to wait awhile as Warner Bros. announced that the sequel has been postponed from 3 June to 17 June 2010.
